Since HBSN AG was founded in Essen in 2006, we have consistently pursued our goal: We want to inspire our customers with intelligent services so that they remain successful in the future.

Over the years, we have developed into a strong, established and reliable partner for all players in the healthcare sector. Even though we no longer operate as an AG, but as a GmbH, we have remained true to our standards of quality and performance to this day.

We are driven by our enthusiasm for new digital technologies and their future areas of application.

Numerous entrepreneurial decisions have accompanied our path in the past and will continue to do so in the future. To this day, our strategic focus includes expanding business areas, bundling business units, developing intelligent service offerings and tapping into new industry segments. This is what makes us so unique and successful.

Our company history

24.08.2006

HBSN AG is founded by Tobias Niemann, Dr. Alfred Jensen and Armin Alexander Dick as well as two other individuals with the business areas of healthcare consulting and prevention. The first business address is Ruhrallee 185 in Essen.

Dr. Alfred Jensen becomes Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Armin Dick Deputy Chairman. Chairman.

01.12.2006

Tobias Niemann begins operational activities as a member of the Management Board.

01.02.2007

The former BKK Aktiv (now viactiv Krankenkasse) is acquired as the first customer and commissions consulting services for the introduction of the electronic health card.

Move to extended premises in Tripl Z at Katernbergerstraße 107 in Essen.

31.12.2008

Turnover exceeds € 1 million per year.

09.02.2009

The prevention business area develops so well that it is spun off into HBSN's first subsidiary, for me do GmbH.

18.06.2009

Dr. Roland Delbos, former CEO of DKV, takes over as Chairman of the Supervisory Board from Dr. Alfred Jensen.

11.01.2010

Another subsidiary, Form Consulting GmbH, is founded as Projekt GmbH.

25.08.2010

HBSN concludes a cooperation agreement with AOK Systems for support in projects with other statutory health insurance companies. Another milestone in the still young development of HBSN and a long-term partnership is developing.

31.10.2010

HBSN is commissioned by BKK Mobil Oil to set up an SAP data center with the aim of establishing its own oscare operation. The consulting form serves as the corporate law framework for this.

03.03.2011

BKK Mobil Oil acquires the shares in Form Consulting GmbH and renames it Mobil ISC GmbH.

04.09.2013

The IT security consulting and auditing business area develops so well that the decision is made to establish a separate subsidiary for strategic development. AuraSec GmbH is created as a wholly owned subsidiary of HBSN AG.

02.10.2013

HBSN and xitee k.s., a medium-sized company from Prague specializing in software development, sign a letter of intent to cooperate and strengthen their respective competencies.

01.09.2014

Marc T. Willems joins the Management Board of HBSN AG and is responsible for sales and marketing.

16.12.2014

HBSN and MediaKom GmbH & Co. KG found the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Vorsorge (DGV) and jointly develop the first online service for the creation of pension documents(www.meinepatientenverfuegung.de )

02/2015

Aachen University Hospital is the first university hospital to join HBSN's corporate development. The foundation for market leadership in the area of information security / Kritis - verification procedures in university clinics / hospitals.

06/2016

HBSN wins software development framework agreement with the PKV association. The start of another long-term partnership.

24.08.2016

The HBSN celebrates its 10th anniversary.

09/2016

HBSN acquires a stake in symeda GmbH, a specialist for networking in the healthcare sector.

10.08.2017

Health IT-Services GmbH is founded as a wholly owned subsidiary with the aim of adding IT services to the Group's portfolio.

15.02.2018

Claus Moldenhauer, former Deputy Chairman of the Board of Management Board of DAK-Gesundheit, is elected Chairman of the Supervisory Board.

16.02.2018

The shares in symeda GmbH are sold to Vitasystems AG at the request of the managing partner.

HBSN wins a tender for medical services and is commissioned to set up and provide IT services and support for all medical services. This is the cornerstone of the IT Service division.

We win a framework agreement from AOK Sachsen-Anhalt and have been supporting them in the digitalization of all processes for private and corporate customers ever since.

03.07.2019

After many years of successful cooperation, HBSN acquires a stake in xitee, which becomes part of the HBSN Group.

HBSN thus offers its customers an end-to-end service from consulting and software development through to IT operation and support.

19.09.2019

HBSN Consulting is founded. Since then, HBSN AG has acted as a holding company for the subsidiaries with the classic support and management functions (HR, recruiting, finance, sales, marketing, etc.).

Marc T. Willems resigns from the Management Board of HBSN AG.

11/2020

DMI commissions HBSN with the "development of a web-based service portal for the provision of value-added services for customers". The start of a valuable strategic partnership.

25.11.2020

eHealth Digital GmbH is founded as a further subsidiary of HBSN with the aim of offering targeted services in the field of eHealth and telematics.

31.12.2020

For the first time in its history, the HBSN Group exceeds the turnover threshold of € 20 million per year.

28.12.2021

HBSN acquires all shares in CAPCAD Systems AG, a medium-sized IT system house with 55 employees, thereby strengthening its performance in the IT service division.

01/2022

HBSN Certifications is founded as a further wholly-owned subsidiary of HBSN with the aim of offering certification services for management systems (in particular 27001) in future, thereby supplementing the existing portfolio.

10/2022

HBSN wins a framework agreement for development services from itsg, Heusenstamm.

04/2023

itsg commissions the HBSN with the project to develop the European short patient file NCPH.

09/2023

HBSN wins a tender from the state of Baden-Württemberg and is commissioned to develop modern software for the 38 health authorities.

10/2023

HBSN decides to further develop the Security Operation Center service.

31.12.2023

The HBSN Group exceeds the annual turnover threshold of € 50 million for the first time.

01.01.2024

All services will be offered under the uniform name HBSN and the previous subsidiaries will be integrated.

This merger enables us to offer our services even more efficiently and comprehensively from a single source and thus simplifies business processing accordingly.

The subsidiaries xitee k.s and HBSN Certifications GmbH will continue to be part of the Group as subsidiaries due to their domicile and special business activities and will complete our range of services accordingly.
